The start of the school year in Ariel is a season of anticipation, vision and opportunity. For some, it’s also a time of anxious concern.
There are over 900 children in the City of Ariel whose families receive assistance from the Department of Social Services. Over 200 of these children are considered “youth at risk.” Ariel’s outstanding and ever-improving school system embraces each and every one of our pupils, guiding them to personal success. In a number of instances, where a child’s family economics require comprehensive care, we could use some extra assistance. The Ariel Back to School Fund is our opportunity to support these pupils.
Although Israel provides universal education for children, some basics are not included. Parents are expected to buy textbooks, for example. Hot lunches are subsidized by the government, but even the very low price is more than some families can afford. American Friends of Ariel is working to assure that no child is left behind.
Thank you in advance for giving Ariel’s school children the gift of a well adjusted and comprehensive educational experience.
