About Friends of Ariel

Since 1991, American friends of Ariel (AFA) has been the vehicle for Americans to express their support for Ariel. AFA’s mission is two-fold.

  • To foster the growth and development of Ariel by funding and maintaining humanitarian projects in the city – in the fields of education, social welfare, immigrant absorption, culture, health and security services and religion.
  • To strengthen Ariel by sponsoring events and establishing relationships with a broad cadre of supporters in order to improve the quality of life in Ariel

AFA activities have helped provide Ariel residents with vital programs, services, and facilities that enrich their lives. Projects include the Ariel Community Center, Municipal Library, and Center for Performing Arts, the Ariel National Center for Leadership Development, a Sports and Recreation Complex, a variety of programs for at-risk youth, senior centers and services, emergency rescue and medical Services. In addition, AFA has funded parks and playgrounds, computers for schools, scholarships, Torah Scrolls, furnishings for schools and synagogues, assistance for the needy, and so much more.
