Ariel and COVID-19

Here in Ariel, we are trying to get back to life and the “new normal” after COVID-19 hit. During this time of social distancing and sheltering at home, we felt the need to connect with our residents and with our friends abroad. We created a heartwarming video which we believe shows the resilient spirit of the people of Ariel and sends a message of hope across the world. The city is recovering after a very difficult time. Many people lost jobs or were put on unpaid leave (1 million throughout Israel). People are tired of staying home and depressed after not being able to socialize with family and friends. The city took a significant hit to their budget as businesses got a tax break for three months.
The coming months will be a challenge for the families of Ariel as parents have returned to work, and the children will soon be on summer vacation (if they aren’t already). Summer programming needs to be reassessed based on budget and health department guidelines. 

We need to arrange for outdoor events with less participants at a time. Or events that can travel such as mobile-concerts, etc.

American Friends of Ariel is dedicated to bringing the joy back to the people of Ariel and giving the children safe spaces for their summer programs. With your support, we know we will succeed!
