Summer 2016 in Ariel is coming to a close. Here’s a recap of some of our favorite moments.
American Friends of Ariel, in partnership with the Ariel Development Fund, hosted an exciting series of children’s movies for the second summer in a row. This year, Summer Movie Night kicked off with a special outdoor screening of “Minions” on the grass outside Ariel’s ORT high school – and followed with a screening of the 2015 films “Pan” and “Capture the Flag” (Spanish: Atrapa La Bandera). Dozens enjoyed the nighttime breezes, refreshments, and summer fun! Click here to see more photos from Movie Nights this summer.
Hundreds of children joined us for the “Mondays in the Park” program on Monday nights throughout the summer months, each night hosted in a different city park.
Every “Monday in the Park” program included a Gymboree, activity and arts-and-crafts stands, and refreshments from local vendors brought specially to serve the city’s children. In addition, we hosted several central events each week – including a pirate-themed workshop, balloon-making, comedy shows, pita-baking, a music workshop, and much more!
Thank you so much to the many families who participated – see you next summer! Click here to see photos from 2016 “Mondays in the Park.”
This summer, Friends of Ariel has been busier than ever
before.
Summer began with the arrival of our first international intern, Tom, and a slew of visitors from abroad in June and July from the US and around the world. In July, Nicole and Erica arrived from the US to work with the Young Adults Center – and Avi, our Executive Director, made a whirlwind trip to the US to plan our 25th anniversary celebrations. July ended with a tribute to our volunteers and the launch of our new project, Humans of Ariel. As we look ahead toward back to school, we thank everyone who made this summer possible – looking forward to seeing you in summer 2017!
