South Korea’s Ambassador 2011 2

Ariel was honored last month by a visit from South Korean ambassador, Ilsoo Kim. Mr. Kim said he wanted to see Judea and Samaria with his own eyes, and the City of Ariel was happy to oblige.

The visit was arranged by the Yesha Council. Naftali Bennett, Yesha Council CEO, brought the delegation to Ariel where they were received by Friends of Ariel Executive Director Avi Zimmerman. The visit began at the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts, where the Ambassador learned about Ariel’s status as a political reality, despite public attempts to undermine its status. A stop at the Gush Katif refugee Netzarim Community was a sore eye opener for Ambassador Kim, whereas the Ariel University Center provided a reassuring sense of unmatched progress.

The visit closed with lunch at Café Café, located in Ariel’s Lowell Milken Family Sports & Recreation Complex.

Ambassador Kim said that he was very impressed by the city and its accomplishments and that he believed more politicians and dignitaries should pay a visit to the Shomron to see for themselves the reality on the ground.

Ariel was proud to host the ambassador for the day and hopes that his visit will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding between South Korea and Israel.
