Dancing for Americans for a Safe Israel (AFSI)

IMG_2522Americans for a Safe Israel (AFSI) made their stop in Ariel during their biannual tour of Israel on May 11, 2014. This time, they were treated to a special performance by the Ariel Dance Troupe at the Eshel HaShomron Hotel.

Performing new routines celebrating Israel, the Ariel Dance Troupe gave them insight into the story of Ariel’s founding and Israel’s pioneering spirit through dance and Q & A with the choreographer, Masha Litvak. Masha came to Ariel from the former Soviet Union  as a child with her mother, Dora, a dance teacher. Together, the mother-daughter team have created one of Ariel’s most beloved cultural institutions.

We are grateful to AFSI Executive Director Helen Freedman for having helped us arrange the New York leg of the Ariel Dance Troupe U.S. tour that took place in Hanukkah 2013. In New York, they performed to packed audiences at the Shore Front Y in Brooklyn and Park East Synagogue.

The AFSI performance was just a little taste of Troupe’s community-wide 20th anniversary celebration that will be held at the Ariel Regional Center for Performing Arts on June 25, 2014.
