Ten Ariel Residents Receive AFA College Scholarships

 

American Friends of Ariel and the City of Ariel presented 10 outstanding Ariel residents with college scholarships this month, after each student completed community service work helping Ariel’s struggling K-12 students succeed in education and in life.

Ariel’s mayor, Eli Shaviro; AFA Executive Director, Avi Zimmerman; and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare offices of Ariel attended the ceremony at the Ariel Young Adult Center.

This year’s scholarship recipients included:

  • Bar Havard, 24, studying Education and Pedagogy at Levinsky Education College;
  • Chupit Hershkovitz, 22, studying Education at Kiryat Ono Academic College;
  • Ben-Zion Cohen, 26, studying Electrical Engineering at the Holon Technical Institute;
  • Or Malca, 23, studying Physical Education at Kay College;
  • David Malca, 27, studying Industrial Engineering at Ariel University;
  • Ana Smireniagin, 23, studying Chemical Engineering at Ariel University;
  • Avital Feinberg, 24, studying Health Administration at Ariel University;
  • Shiran Reuven, 26, studying Economics and Business at Ariel University;
  • Marina Rof, 24, studying Health Sciences at Ariel University; and
  • Barak Shefer, 26, studying Civil Engineering at Ariel University.
