Just as Mayor Eli Shaviro arrived in south Florida as part of his US tour, Temple Israel of West Palm Beach, a Reform temple in Florida, paid a visit to Ariel on May 12, 2014 during their tour of Israel.
With the delegation consisting of many first timers to Israel, this visit provided a look into life beyond the Green Line, a region that figures so much in discourse on Israel.
Starting off with a geopolitical briefing at the Ariel Regional Center of Performing Arts, the group took a bus tour past major landmarks, including the Ariel and Barkan Industrial Parks and Ariel University.
Throughout the tour, the group members asked questions about relations with our Arab neighbors, the status of Ariel as a “consensus” city in Israel, and general life in the city.
We look forward to continuing to bring the story of Ariel to Palm Beach, both here and there.
