Happy Birthday Israel!

With city streets graced with Israeli flags and streamers, Ariel pulled no stops in celebrating Israel’s birthday every year.

On May 2, 2014, Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations kicked off in Ariel with its traditional kindergarten-wide ceremony. On the gym floor of the ORT elementary school, the kindergarten classes across Ariel made blue-and-white presentations in honor of Israel 66th birthday as proud parents watched from the bleachers.

On the eve of Yom Ha’atzmaut on May 5, thousands gathered at the outdoor Ariel amphitheater for the main city celebrations with performances by the city’s musical ensembles, remarks by Mayor Eliyahu Shaviro, and concerts by leading Israeli artists, including pop superstar Rami Kleinstein. A beautiful display of fireworks paraded Ariel’s Zionist pride across all of Samaria.

On May 6, children filled the streets of Ariel with a special bike parade. Shows and performances for the entire family took place in the yard of the ORT junior high cchool, filled also with moon bounces, street shows, and vendor booths.

It was a true celebration of Israel’s achievements and a show of certainty about Israel’s spectacular future.
