June 20, 2013
Temple Beth Am of South Florida, led by Rabbi Paul Plotkin, kicked off the summer by experiencing Ron Nachman’s legacy on June 20, 2013. The Temple last visited Ariel only a few years ago, and the group was able to witness the growth of Ariel since then, as well as to mourn the loss of the city’s great leader, Ron Nachman.
The group disembarked at the Ariel Regional Center for Performing Arts and continued to the Sports and Recreation Complex, built in large part with support from our friends in south Florida. They learned how the Complex was built in response to the second intifada, according to
Ron’s vision that Ariel residents have convenient access to every modern amenity within the City.
The delegates paid their respects to Ron at the top of the Ariel National Leadership Development Center, where Beth Am member and longtime Friends of Ariel board member, Michael Greenberg, shared personal thoughts in honor of his dear friend. Rabbi Paul Plotkin led the group under the midday sun in the recitation of the traditional prayer of mourning, El Ma’aley Rachamim.
We look forward to welcoming the group back to Ariel on the congregation’s next mission.
