Russian Seniors’ Choir serenade Bill Wilson

Longtime friends to the City of Ariel Connie and Bill Wilson were back in Ariel this month with a group of ladies from across the United States.

This time around they visited the Senior Citizens’ Choir who dedicated the song ‘Won’t You Please Come Home Bill Bailey’ to Bill. Following the song, which Ariel’s seasoned residents sang from transliterated song sheets written in Russian, Bill responded by saying “Thank you for coming home.” He commended them for inspiring Ariel’s guests by making the life changing move to Israel and Ariel following the fall of the Iron Curtain.

The group was moved by their experiences at the Ariel National Leadership Development Center where they met with representatives from a JH Ranch delegation who were preparing for the “Big Top” tent dedication ceremony.

The tour ended with a visit to the Ariel Holocaust and Heroism Museum, run by Holocaust survivors and veteran Ariel residents Irena and Kuba Vadislavsky. The women were moved by the sincerity, bravery and dedication that Irena and Kuba exemplify.

American Friends of Ariel is always happy to welcome Connie and Bill Wilson and looks forward to future opportunities to host them and their friends here in Ariel.
