Ariel Welcomes ZOA Students

Ariel was pleased to welcome the student chapter of ZOA on January 8, 2012.

Founded in 1897, the Zionist Organization of America (“ZOA”) is the oldest pro-Israel organization in the United States. It has a national membership of over 30,000, and chapters throughout the United States. The American Israel advocacy group is dedicated to educating the public, elected officials, media, and college/high school students about the truth of Israel. ZOA is also committed to promoting strong U.S.-Israel relations. ZOA works to protect Jewish college and high school students from intimidation, harassment and discrimination, and in fighting anti-Semitism in general.

Guided by Avi Zimmerman, the group’s visit began with a stop at the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts. From there, the students toured other parts of Ariel and its vicinity, including the Barkan Industrial Park and the Ariel National Leadership Development Center. After a lunch break, the students continued their exploration of Ariel with visits to the Netzarim Community, Ariel University Center, the Security Fence, the Sports & Recreation Complex, and an opportunity to see Antenna Hill, Ariel’s nearby IDF post, where the students had the chance to meet with Israeli soldiers.

The Ariel was happy to show Israel’s student advocates some of Ariel’s charms and accomplishments. The city and ZOA are excellent partners. ZOA students are welcome to visit anytime.
