OU Comes to Town

December 4, 2011

The city of Ariel was honored with a visit by the “OU”, the Orthodox Union, one of the oldest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. The OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy, and programs for the disabled.

The group began their visit with a meeting with Mayor Ron Nachman at the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts. This was followed by a tour of the Sports & Recreation Complex, the Netzarim Community, and the Ariel University Center. They also had the opportunity to visit Ariel’s unique Holocaust and Heroism Memorial Museum, and meet over refreshments with the museum’s founders and curators, Holocaust survivors, Irena and Kuba Vadislavsky.

Ariel thanks the OU for visiting, and hopes that the group’s look at the city results in even stronger bonds of friendship, and another visit in the future.
