On May 2nd, Mayor Ron Nachman’s close friend Daniel Katz from Boca Raton, Florida brought an annual trip of 8th graders from the Hillel Day School of Boca Raton. As always, the first evening of the trip was spent in Ariel.
The group took a bus tour around Ariel, getting a sense of the city’s strategic significance and an understanding of the difference between what people think about “settlements” and what the City of Ariel is all about. Following the tour Mayor Ron Nachman addressed the group.
Daniel described his long-time friend as a visionary, a builder and a leader of the Jewish people. Mayor Nachman, in turn, encouraged the young teens to become upstanding members of their community, to be proud Jews and to take action when necessary.
This young group of 8th graders, only a few hours in Israel, seemed to absorb every word that Mayor Nachman shared with them. With the exception of his remarks regarding the importance of studying hard, it seemed that they were excited about taking the Mayor’s motivating advice.
