The Ariel Back to School Fund will provide for those who need the most and who have the least.
There are over 900 children in the City of Ariel whose families receive assistance from the Department of Social Services. Over 200 of these children are considered “youth at risk”.
One goal of The Ariel Back to School Fund is to help ensure that these kids can keep up with their classmates and never get left behind.
Although Israel provides universal education for children, some things are not included.
Parents are expected to buy their kids text books, for example. Hot lunches are subsidized by the government, but even the very low price is more than some families can afford.
Ariel Development Fund and American Friends of Ariel are looking to support these children. The Ariel Back to School Fund will provide financial assistance to these families, with a focus on sponsoring the hot lunches program at the low cost of $120 per child per year. Thirty-five children in our school system are in need of this assistance.
Thank you in advance for giving Ariel's schoolchildren the gift of a healthy childhood. It will make all the difference for the rest of their lives.
Please note that all donations are tax deductible in the U.S.A. We thank you in advance for your generosity and for your genuine commitment to the people of Ariel.
