Youth Development
Today Ariel’s primary focus is its youth. Promising Israel’s future, Ariel is committed to each and every one of its youngsters. The local municipality spares no effort and the city’s residents actively seek new ways of cultivating our most precious resource – our children.
Creativity, Variety and Initiative
Ariel’s youth can chose from a wide variety of programs. Youth programs that are available throughout Israel are, of course, available here in Ariel. Youth groups, after-school activities and community volunteering are obvious and necessary venues accessible to Ariel’s young population. In addition, Ariel excels in providing new and creative options for youth -- army preparation course, international dance and singing groups, national sporting competitions to name but a few. As in other spheres of life in Ariel, every initiative is welcomed and is materialized. American Friends of Ariel continues to p ursue support for Ariel’s youth, the future of Israel.
Leadership Training
Ariel’s National Youth Leadership Development Park is well underway. Today Israel needs true dedicated leadership more than ever. The city of Ariel has taken the initiative to develop leadership characteristics and qualities within Israeli youth. The National Youth Leadership Development Park presents an experiential form of learning through which its participants can internalize the messages that they study. Rope courses, an alpine tower, climbing wall and a variety of similar facilities are only the beginning. The Park’s true contribution lies in its curriculum which teaches Israeli youth to model themselves after Biblical figures who exemplify true leadership values. Ten to forty thousand youngsters throughout Israel will benefit from this revolutionary project annually. Indeed Ariel has taken responsibility, not only for its own youth; but for all of Israel’s budding generation.
Young Leadership in Ariel
Last Tuesday members of the Youth Parliament convened at the office of the Mayor for their first ceremonial opening session. Vice Chairlady, Limor Portnoy and the Managing Director, Coral Avraham, were both elected at the beginning of the month in democratic elections that took place at the Youth Center. Joining the parliament were Haim (Koki) Biton, Managing Director of the Interdisciplinary Center, Shlomi Amar, Director of Youth and Leadership, and Hefzi Ben and Guy Dalal, the instructors who guide the young members of parliament throughout the year....
