Media & Communications
The City of Ariel has been the forerunner of Israel's communications and revolution. The city has been termed the Smart City, due to its focus on internet technology. The city created the country's first free wireless internet points for public access. Beyond the internet initiative, the city continues its lead by embarking on citywide pilot projects to test the effectively of new programs and products and their positive impact on society.
Communications
Keeping people up o date on current developments is a significant responsibility. With all that happens in Ariel there's a lot of information to handle at a fast pace. American Friends of Ariel has taken a leading role in assuring that people are informed about current developments. Residents of Ariel, communities throughout the region and the world as a whole want to see and hear how events continue to unfold. With the help of our supporters, American Friends of Ariel helped to establish Ariel's community radio station. The radio station services Samaria with news updates, emergency warnings and ongoing entertainment programs. The station is operated by volunteer broadcasters and technical staff who appreciate the importance and value of the community-wide effort.
Media
The world wants to see more. New forms of media are more prevalent and available. Ariel's Communications Department is dedicated to presenting the world with up-to-date information through the use of modern and relevant tools. They have recently begun broadcasting a television program, and have expanded their radio station to a sister branch at the Ariel University Center. All of the programs are broadcast worldwide through the internet, making the City of Ariel accessible and tangible to all those who are concerned with the future of Israel.
