American Friends of Ariel is committed to the welfare of the People of Ariel. Local emergency services are a basic prerequisite to sustaining a healthy lifestyle and mindset in any region of the world. When it comes to Ariel, history has taught us that in Ariel this is even more necessary than elsewhere.
Survival and Security
Ariel is the regional hub for the communities of Samaria. It provides not only for its own residents but also for those in the entire vicinity. For frequent errands, Ariel is a convenient place to take care of banking, meet with government offices, shop and relax. However, when it comes to an emergency, Ariel's local services can mean the difference between life and death.
The Israeli Defense Forces have a keen appreciation of Ariel's strategic significance on behalf of the State of Israel. Their regional presence is apparent to all as they maintain security throughout Samaria. Residents of Ariel and the surrounding communities work to reciprocate for the hard work that Israel's fine soldiers perform. Sometimes people will give them a care package, sometimes some sporting equipment and sometimes a simple "thank you". In all cases, the People of Ariel understand that the IDF is there to look out for them and to insure their well being.
The City of Ariel is blessed with a well developed medical care system. Each of Israel's national health clinics has branches in Ariel. In addition, in case of emergency there is a Magen David Adom ("Red Star of David" emergency medical care) unit, as well as ambulances that are always call. American Friends of Ariel seeks to take things a step farther and to establish a local hospital that will service the entire region.
Ariel's firefighters are heroes in more than one way. As with other units, the city's
firemen work both as fire fighters and as a rescue team. However, they are set apart from their peers in their unique sensitivity to additional community needs. They took the initiative to start a charitable organization that donates food packages to the needy on a regular basis. They collect donations and distribute the packages with a large group of volunteers. Ariel's firefighters are true heroes for the city, both in and out of uniform
