Mike Huckabee Visits Ariel
On Tuesday, February 1st, Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, Fox News television host, and potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate, visited the City of Ariel during his stay in Israel. He began h
is visit at the Ariel University Center and then continued on a tour of the city which he concluded at the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts (ARCPA).
On the steps of the ARCPA Mike Huckabee displayed his solidarity with the City of Ariel and the Israeli communities throughout Judea and Samaria. He explained to the cameras and reporters: “what some people from outside would call a settlement, most of us would look at this and tour it and call it a community – a thriving community – where people are being educated, encouraged, enjoying life and raising families .” When asked about the artists' boycott of the Ariel Regional Center for the Performing Arts, Huckabee said: “People have boycotted me previously. I consider it a badge of honor. I am sure that this university and this community will thrive. I am not sure that the people who do the boycotting will.”
American Friends of Ariel takes great pleasure in ensuring Governor Huckabee that Ariel will, indeed, continue to thrive.
